Thankfulness

Photobucket
Today's thankful post is a simple one: I am thankful to be in a pointe class. It's easy to put on the shoes every Tuesday, go through the motions, and forget about when I was a wistful teenager standing at the homemade barre in my bedroom and desperately hoping I'd have the chance to be en pointe one day. I don't want to take it for granted anymore. Pointe is a special part of ballet that not everyone can experience, and I am thankful for the half hour per week when I receive instruction in this difficult (sometimes even painful) art form.

  1. You are SO lucky! I wish I could afford my pointe classes; let alone the shoes too!

  2. I was dreaming I would get this chance. I was dreaming when I was watching my sister dancing with her pointe(s), she was way more talented than me. I still love dreaming about it!
    Take care Hannah!

  3. I took Pointw in middle and high school. I've been missing it a lot lately. I wish I would've kept up with it through college, at least as a minor. Now, I would feel incredibly awkward getting back into a class afer being out of it for almost 5 years. I remember during summers while my parents were working, I'd move the kitchen table and practice in the dining room. It's good that you've stuck with something you enjoy doing.

    2. Hey, Lauren!
I didn't start ballet until I was fifteen. I quit my senior year of high school but took a little dance (mostly modern) off and on through college. I didn't start pointe until I was 23 (which was only last fall!) Don't feel awkward! It's never too late to return to something you love. :)
