Hairstyle for ballet class

null null null
I've yet to master the ballet bun (though not for lack of trying). My hair is thick and unruly, refusing to be slicked and primed into submission. I inevitably spend an hour before every ballet class feeling frustrated and yelling at my hairbrush. And that's no fun, for me or the hairbrush. Today, I finally decided to find a hairdo that was windy and twisty, one that could take on a mind of it's own. I followed this A Cup of Jo hair tutorial and had my hair pinned up for class in less than five minutes! I'm amazed. I think I've found my new go-to hair style for ballet. And maybe for date nights, too. :)

  4. That looks so pretty!

I also have thick hair so it is a bit hard to do a bun. Even with bobby pins, the bun doesn't always stay. Very frustrating at times.

  5. Amazing hairdo! I really like it! I could see that also being a more festive hairdo, too. Like for weddings and other celebrations. Very pretty! :)

  6. It's a beautiful hair-do, perfect for a night out. I wouldn't had believe that it only takes 5 minutes.

  8. Anna, it did hold for class--thanks to lots of hairspray. :)

  9. Lovely! I wear my hair in a ponytail for class, but I know that as I progress I'm going to need to wear it up. My hair is SO thick that putting it into a bun requires a million bobby pins and gives me a headache. I like this idea a lot - it looks less headache inducing. :)

  10. Ohhhhhhh, that's so pretty!

I have thick unruly curls that threaten to take over the world left to their own devices but practice, practice, practice means I've sort of-just about got the hang of the bun malarkey and I'm a bit hesitant to deviate off it JUST IN CASE. But that's so pretty I'd be tempted to try it...

  11. That looks really good. I should try it sometime for class, it would be a nice change from the typical ballet bun.
